Preschool

Overview

Crestview Local School District currently has two preschool classrooms located in the Crestview Elementary Building. It is the goal of the Cougar Cubs Preschool to provide each student with the opportunity to develop to his/her greatest potential in all areas of learning and growth.  The preschool provides developmentally appropriate instruction with a mixture of individual and group activities which encourage each child to actively explore their environment.

 Times

The preschool is in session Monday through Thursday with an AM and a PM session.  The AM session goes from 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM. The PM session goes from 11:30 AM to 2:45 PM.

Transportation

Bussing is provided based on where a family resides in the district.  Families will receive more information regarding bussing at the scheduled screening for their student.

Tuition

Tuition is charged on a sliding fee schedule with a maximum payment of $100.00 per month.  Families must provide evidence of income in order to have a reduction in tuition.  Tuition will be calculated after the proof of income is provided.  Students with an Individualized Education Plan will not be charged tuition.

Enrollment

The enrollment application is available on the district website and may be completed on the website.  [Link: Preschool Registration] Students will be admitted on a first come first serve basis.  At this time, the district is not accepting out of district students.  In order to apply, students must be age 3 prior to September 30 and cannot be age 5 prior to September 30. All students must be potty trained before starting preschool unless the student is identified with special needs through the multifactored evaluation process.  Four year olds will be prioritized.  Families will need to provide a copy of their child's birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency and custody papers, if they apply.  Students must provide documentation of a medical exam no later than 30 days following the beginning of preschool. Dental exams are also strongly recommended.

Screening

Following the application process, families will be contacted with a date to bring their student to the elementary school for a developmentally appropriate screening.

Child Find

If at any time, a family suspects a student may have a disability, the family may contact Abbie Spencer, Elementary Administrative Assistant, at 419.895.1700 Ext. 16000 to schedule a screening for the student.  Students do not have to be potty trained to be screened.
