Our mission in music class: We will be respectful, have fun, and do our best to become excellent musicians.

My goal is for all students to begin to develop the skills needed to make, understand, and enjoy music throughout their life time.

Children in music class develop these musical skills through singing,  listening and moving to music, playing instruments, creating, and studying how music works/musical literacy.  Music in the elementary years creates a foundation upon which future music learning, expression, and enjoyment is built.

Experts note that:

·  Music is a natural and important part of a young child’s growth and development.

·  Music is a basic building block of intelligence.

·  Sudying music encourages self discipline and diligence.

·  Music activities contribute to the development of creativity.
